It’s been a tough week for Kim Richards. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was arrested earlier this week, but a source now tells Us Weekly exclusively that her erratic behavior had nothing to do with the Bravo show.
“There’s no interest in putting her back on television unless she’s addressed her issues,” the insider reveals to Us. “The show didn’t trigger her addiction — and her recovery also needs to happen outside of it.”
As previously reported, Richards, 50, was charged with public intoxication, resisting an officer, and trespassing after a night out at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday, April 16. Once taken into custody, she reportedly kicked a police officer in the leg.
The incident, which took place days after the RHOBH reunion aired, has understandably worried the star’s family. Sister Kyle Richards, whom she fought with on the three-part special, has tried to help her over the years. (Several Bravo stars also sent their love and support via Twitter after hearing the news.)
“Kim has had a billion chances from the family. This is so embarrassing,” a second source tells Us. A third notes: “She’s just spiraling out of control.”
Bravo has yet to renew RHOBH for a sixth season.
