Forever in her heart. Kim Richards posted a touching Instagram tribute on Monday, January 25, to her late ex-husband, Monty Brinson, one day after his death.
“Yesterday I said goodbye to best the friend I’ve ever had in my life.. Monty was an amazing person with an amazing soul … We shared over 30 years of Love & Happiness and brought a beautiful daughter into world. I am so grateful for all that we shared. I know we will be together again one day💫I love you Monty❤️,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself hugging Brinson. “My angel👼in heaven .. and I know that we be together again one day. I will carry you in my heart always my love❤️…until then ,may you rest in peace.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum’s ex died at the age of 58 on Sunday, January 24, after a long battle with cancer. His fight against the disease was shown on the hit Bravo show.
Richards, 51, and Brinson, who are the parents of daughter Brooke, divorced in 1988 but remained close. Brinson was by Richards’ side as she battled substance abuse and did a stint in rehab last year.
Their daughter, Brooke, who married in August 2014 at her aunt and uncle Kathy and Rick Hilton’s Bel-Air home with Brinson by her side, also posted a touching tribute to her late father.
“Yesterday we lost an amazing man. My father fought till the very end and never gave up. He was surrounded by everyone he loved and went peacefully. Today is bittersweet knowing that he is at peace and doesn’t have to fight this horrible disease anymore. Thank you everyone for your kind words. I know he is looking down and checking his Instagram 😊. I love you SO much Dad. Thank you for being the best father you could be to me and my sisters,” the 29-year-old shared. “I will miss everything about you. You always called me your angel but now you are my guardian angel. Until we meet again…👼🏼❤️.”
Brooke also celebrated her wedding with a second ceremony in Cabo San Lucas in May, but her father did not attend due to his deteriorating health.
