Kim Richards has told all to Dr. Phil! The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has opened up to the TV psychologist about her long-term struggles with alcoholism that led to her shocking arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday, April 16.
As Us Weekly reported previously, Richards was arrested for public intoxication and trespassing at the luxury Los Angeles hotel last week. And talking publically for the first time about the incident, the former child star will discuss her ongoing struggle with alcoholism with Dr. Phil in an exclusive interview which will air on Tuesday, April 28.
In a sneak preview of the chat, Richards takes full responsibility for the incident, acknowledging her behavior is the result of her issues with alcohol.
“I was angry and frightened and I was scared,” Richards says. “I knew what I had done. The whole night is my fault. None of this would have happened if I didn’t drink.”
Richards’ struggle with alcohol has featured heavily in the past season of her hit reality TV show. The 50-year-old star has clashed with many of her cast members, including her younger sister Kyle, as they alleged she was not sober (a charge Richards denied at the time).
As previously reported, Richards was arrested at the high profile hotel after refusing to leave the establishment’s restroom, despite being asked by security to do so.
“Hotel security requested to make a Private Persons Arrest and BHPD officers entered the restroom and took her into custody,” Beverly Hills Police Department spokesman Lt. Lincoln Hoshino told Us at the time. “She was passively resisting and she was taken into custody on Private Person Arrest.” While being booked at the Beverly Hills Police station, Richards kicked an officer.
Richards faces a court date on June 11 and charges including public intoxication, trespassing, resisting arrest, and battery on a police officer.
