Rooting for Mother Monster! Lady Gaga’s dedicated fans, famously known as Little Monsters, went crazy on social media after news broke that the “Born This Way” singer and her fiancé, Taylor Kinney, were “taking a break.”
As previously reported, the couple put their engagement on hold earlier this month and are currently on a break. The Grammy winner confirmed the news via Instagram on Tuesday, July 19: “Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples, we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We’re just like everybody else, and we really love each other.”
A source tells Us that Gaga, 30, and Kinney, 35, were away from each other a lot, which made it hard for them to connect. Her fans took a toll, too. “It was hard with all of her Little Monsters everywhere,” the insider adds.
Almost immediately after Us Weekly confirmed the (possibly temporary) split, Little Monsters across the world took to Twitter to share their thoughts with the hashtag #WeLoveYouGaga, which eventually became a trending topic.
“I’m in tears, this can’t be true,” one user wrote. Another account shared a GIF of SpongeBob SquarePants character Patrick Star crying, with the caption: “All the feels for @ladygaga.”
One fan shared a GIF of Gaga looking stunning on the red carpet, tweeting, “I love this woman so much. She is my inspiration, aspiration and my will to keep on living.”
“Lady Gaga is an angel who spreads love and kindness above all things. She deserves the very best,” another fan added.
