Lamar Odom is continuing to improve, a source tells Us Weekly. The former NBA pro, who was hospitalized on Tuesday, Oct. 13, after being found unconscious at legal brothel Love Ranch South in Pahrump, Nev., is slowly making progress, an insider confirms to Us.
"Not that much has changed since yesterday, but he’s getting better little by little,” the source explains. “He's slowly saying more words.”
As previously reported, Odom is out of a coma and has regained consciousness. His estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, is continuing to help him pull through. “Khloe is still by his bedside,” the source adds. “She strokes his hand and kisses his cheek. It's very sad and sweet."
The Kardashian and Jenner clan, who have visited Odom at Sunrise Hospital in the Las Vegas, are continuing to pray for the Lakers alum as the source notes of his condition, “Of course, everything could turn around in a minute.”
For now, though, the source continues that "so far, he’s getting better" and that Odom is able to breathe on his own with the assistance of oxygen. "It's all baby steps."
Kardashian, for her part, has been leaning on her sisters and mom Kris Jenner. As previously reported by Us, she's been the one to make all of Odom's medical decisions. "Kris is looking out for Khloe and supporting her," the insider says. "She's really there for her. Helping her make decisions and making sure she's okay in every way."
The 31-year-old, who married Odom in 2009 and filed for divorce in 2013, plans to stay by his side.
“Khloe says she’s not leaving until Lamar walks out of the hospital,” the source concludes. “She’s really been amazing.”
