Lindsay Lohan Dropping Last Name

Madonna, Cher, Beyonce...Lindsay!

Lindsay Lohan is dropping her famous last name, the actress' mom Dina Lohan confirmed to PopEater. Friday.

"Lindsay is dropping the Lohan and just going by Lindsay," Dina, 48, explained, adding, "Plus, me and [younger daughter] Ali will be officially changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan."

Explained an insider to PopEater, "So many of the greatest people in showbiz are known by just their first name. Look at Oprah and Beyonce. Now you can add Lindsay to that list...And it's a way for them all to start over. No one in the family want anything to do with Lindsay's father [Michael Lohan] anymore and that includes sharing a last name."

But it's unclear when the Mean Girls star, 24, will be able to see her new moniker up on a movie or TV screen: On April 22, a judge will decide whether to proceed with a trial for the troubled star, who is accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, Calif. store. If convicted, Lindsay faces up to 3 years in prison -- and additional jail time if a judge determines she has violated terms of her probation stemming from her 2007 DUI case.

Lindsay can drop her last name, drop her first name or even change or delete her first, middle and last name. Lindsay's troubles are not going to "drop" away as she can do with her name, she must and will be held accountable for what she has done no matter what Lindsay Lohan's former name was.

This is really too funny. Does she really think that if she drops her last name we won't recognize her as the loser she is. She is almost as pathetic as Charlie Sheen. For her to start as a "fresh" person she would have to literally die and be reincarnated, fat chance of that happening, maybe she would come back as a "common folk"
