Tyrese Gibson, Amber Rose and Amber Tamblyn got mixed up in a hilarious case of mistaken email identity — and a good-natured musical prank! — which Tamblyn, 28, shared with pals.
In an email exchange that's quickly gone viral online, Tamblyn explained that the singer and Transformers star, 33, saw her email address on a group email. Mistaking Tamblyn for the model, who famously dated Kanye West and is now engaged to Wiz Kalifia, Gibson pursued "Amber Rose" for a musical collaboration.
Tamblyn, who's engaged to comic actor David Cross, couldn't resist punking Gibson. "Tyrese emailed me wanting to work on an album together," she told pals. "So I recorded my demos on my iphone and sent them to him. I guess you could call them Awareness Raps? I am the Hilary Clinton of Ghostface Killahs!"
"Here listen to these 2 first," Tamblyn, masquerading as Rose, wrote to Gibson. "What do you think?"
On one X-rated sample (listen on Soundcloud) called "Splits," Tamblyn-as-Rose raps nonsensically: "I'm goin' to the beach/Gonna eat some eggs/I don't give a f*** if it didn't rhyme."
She dedicates another clip, called "Dancefloor Etiquette Demo," to "the ladies on the dancefloor wearin' open-toed shoes. Watch your toes, ladies! Mutha****** got big feet!" and recommends women bring Tasers with them to clubs.
In a faux-political, feminist rant, she tells conservative politicans: "How about I tell you what to do with your caucus? . . .You have the right to get strangled by a bra strap. Anything you sexualize will get shot at with a Glock cap!"
After the hilarious potty-mouthed, awkward raps, Gibson replied, "That was trash …. Sorry .. At this point I don't even believe this is Amber …. I'm cool … Good luck on your career"
"These do mean something to me," Tamblyn replied. "They are from my heart and I feel like there is an important message in each and every song."
Added Tamblyn in her disclaimer: "Tyrese is a very sweet guy with good intentions who made a mistake and I, being an actress and engaged to a comedian, could not help myself. Tyrese, please accept my 87% hearfelt apology for stringing you along. I think we could have made beautiful music together."
