Getting blunt. Michael Buble is squashing those resurfaced rumors that his relationship with Emily Blunt ended because he cheated. The “Feeling Good” crooner, 40, set the record straight about their past romance during an interview with ET Canada on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
“It didn’t end because of cheating,” Buble claimed to ET‘s Erin Cebula. “It ended because we weren’t right for each other, and we are now exactly where we’re supposed to be in our lives.”
He added: “Emily is a beautiful and loving person, and I’m grateful for the time I had with her, for the relationship. Without it, I wouldn’t have had a chance to fall in love with myself enough to be with a woman like my wife.”
Last month, Blunt, 32, caused a stir when she dodged questions about whether the singer was ever unfaithful. “I don’t know, it’s complicated,” she told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show. “I never want to talk about it. I can’t do it.”
Buble and the British actress dated from 2005 to 2008, and are now both happily married to other people. Blunt wed John Krasinski in July 2010 and welcomed daughter Hazel, 20 months, in February 2014. Buble and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, are parents to 2-year-old son Noah. This past July, they announced that they are expecting their second child together. Buble revealed to ET Canada that it’s another boy.
“Noah’s 2 and I already miss him when he was a baby,” the singer said. “We love that part so much that how can we not want to have that again? And again, and again… I’m saying that now, let’s see what I say after two.”
