"Sitting on the floor of the Lakers game with her was better than any commercial of him that would ever run," an insider tells UsMagazine.com. "Sure, he liked her to an extent, but he loved the publicity a lot more."

The short-lived romance - which recently ended because distance kept them apart - also had its plusses for Kardashian, 29.

Whenever she needed a date for an event, and he was in town, he'd go with her.
"Don't feel bad for Kim," the source tells Us.

Even though it didn't work out, Austin, 26, is still "pumped because dating her really put him into the national spotlight and really raised his awareness in the public eye," says the source. "He thought she was cool, but by no means is he heartbroken."

5Yea, I'm sure he got alot of negative attention too, but with some people - ANY attention is better than none at all. Looks like she's been used again. She's looking for the perfect "looking" man....there's not one out there, she's sooooo shallow! And ppl wonder why she's 30 and still single. KNOWING she wants to get wifed up!

I dont think there is a person who feels sorry for her. She's after all a total media wh0re. The media made her famous, and we keep her in the rags.
