Walking down the aisle isn't high on Miley Cyrus' to-do list.
At the MTV Video Music Awards in L.A. September 6, the 19-year-old singer admitted she hasn't done much wedding planning since accepting Liam Hemsworth's proposal in early June.
"I'm really excited to obviously get married, but I kind of already feel married," Cyrus told Us Weekly and other reporters on the red carpet. "I know we are forever. I don't really need the paper right now, so I'm just really trying to work."
Indeed, Cyrus is laying down tracks for her upcoming fourth studio album, due in 2013. "I'll have a single out this year," the singer promised. "This is the first time I get to tell people about it, so I'm really excited!"
"I'm really proud of the album," Cyrus added. "It's my favorite thing I've done probably ever." The disc will feature collaborations with rapper/producer Pharrell Williams, 39, and hip-hop star Mac Miller, 20, among others. "It's all really different."
Cyrus' new sound isn't the only making headlines. After she unveiled a platinum blonde pixie cut in mid-August, the former Disney Channel star said she's getting more accustomed to her makeover.
"It's so easy. The only thing that's hard is that it's the only thing that people want to talk about," Cyrus, wearing Emilio Pucci, said. "People are like, 'Oh, I didn't recognize you!' I'm like, 'I know, but I love it, and it's really me and it's good."
