Not all princesses are blonde and black Santa is a real thing! Apple’s developers are beta testing versions of the upcoming operating system update, which will highlight the ethnic diversity of its millions of users.
In the new OS X 10.10.3 and iOS 8.3 release, there will be a series of new updates, but the one that’s getting the most coverage lies in the emoji department.
“While we saw a preview of the changes coming to the Emoji character set in the last build, the current build includes the racially diverse character set which allows users to pick from various skin tones on several different characters,” 9To5Mac Apple Intelligence notes.
In the new feature, users will be able to click on any human emoji and select from six different skin tones. From the baby to the bride, each character is offered in a variety of shades and hair colors. Even the waving hand is offered in a spectrum of skin tones.
