It’s not getting much better for Nick Gordon. Bobbi Kristina Brown’s boyfriend has checked into rehab for drug abuse after ranting about suicide, TMZ is now reporting. The decision was allegedly made following his sit-down intervention with Dr. Phil and amid Bobbi Kristina’s hospitalization.
Gordon, 25, was joined by his mother Michelle for the “emotionally charged intervention” on Thursday, Mar. 5, which will air next week. During the discussion, Gordon opens up about finding Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston’s daughter facedown in the bathtub at their Atlanta, Ga., home in late January. She’s since been in a medically induced coma at Emory University Hospital.
“As we sit here right now, my son’s life hangs in the balance,” Michelle told Dr. Phil. According to TMZ, she also explained to the psychiatric expert that Gordon is depressed and is struggling with drug abuse. No other information on his treatment has been given.
Gordon has been shut out from the Brown family since Bobbi Kristina’s hospitalization. In the past month, he’s ranted numerous times against Bobby Brown on social media, and has tweeted that he regrets not finding his longtime love sooner. Earlier this week, he wished Bobbi Kristina a happy 22nd birthday while watching one of their favorite movies, The Hobbit.
“I’m so hurt I wanna do myself in, I know I have to strong,” he wrote. “I’m close to you baby.”
