NJ Housewife Teresa Went on $60,000 Spree After Declaring Bankruptcy

Days after filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy last year, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice dropped $60,000 on high-end furniture, court documents revealed Monday.
The Bravo star, 38, and her husband Joe -- who are $10.85 million in debt -- appeared in U.S. Bankruptcy Court as the planned Aug. 22 auction of their personal belongings was delayed until October as each item's worth is re-evaluated.

But the real surprise came when new documents revealed that, shortly after declaring bankruptcy, the Giudices went on a lavish 2009 shopping spree, during which they snapped up $8,800 on curtains and nearly $45,000 on wall hangings, mirrors, frames, tables, urns and chairs, according to the New York Post's Page Six.
"These were not Ikea-purchased furniture items," said Judge Morris Stern. "These were from high-end design stores."

After court, Teresa declined comment.
According to the Post, her husband Joe seemed upset, snapping at reporters: "None of your business! Back off before I get pissed!"
Earlier this month on The View, Teresa insisted that she never lived outside her means and only spent money she thought she had (she claimed her husband never told her about their huge debt because he "didn't want to worry me").
“I always live within my means. Always," she said. "The money was coming in from the apartment buildings so we were able to live the lifestyle that we did."

Danielle Staub might be largely disliked, but as we all see on the show, her kids are quite normal and seem more grounded. The Giudices should have their mansion taken....that's so ridiculous. Ok so they are in debt..does not give the world free reign to call them and their children names..any of you folks out there calling her children names have kids yourself? would you like someone speaking of your children that way because you were in debt..so they made some spending errors..living the high life thinking it would last forever..they are not the first and won't be the last..back off..why kick folks when they are down and for those of you putting down teresa's looks..she's beautiful and loves her family..and for those of you putting joe down caling him names..joe could and would probably kick your asses..maybe we should hope the best for them instead of kicking them while down and out..think about it folks

My favorite housewife is Bethany Frankel.Her dad was a great trainer. And if anyone likes horses or racing, a very cool game to play is Sim Horse Racing. I am not a "gamer" but since I like racing I tried it and its addicting.

Tersea is a class act..she has spoiled bratty unbehaved kids..a husband who was out at 2 in the morning and gave a story he was not drunk,yeah right ..and she is a big spender..she does not care where the money comes from as long as she spends it..and spends it fast!She has horrid taste in so many things.. including matching clothes for her kids..her daughters look like circus performers!!!
Oh my God- can someone just admit her and Joe are "SLUMLORDS" WHO COLLECT THE MONEY AND DON'T PAY THE BILLS. Why are they not in PRISON? Why have they not been forced to sell the home to get some of the debts paid back?

I have no respect for this thief. The bankruptcy laws in this country really need to change, particularly during a recession when good people are hurting and struggling to pay their bills. This is an outrage. Why aren't these people being investigated by the IRS or the bank courts? This is downright fraud considering she KNew she would be getting this money as an advance and therefore should've reported it and given it to her creditors. How in the world did they go Italy on that lavish trip if they were bankrupt? This is AMERICAN GREED at it's lowest point.

Were the purchased items charged to credit cards? If so, anything purchased AFTER the filing of bankruptcy, MUST be returned. Where are these peoples' heads? Wait, don't tell me, I already know LOL.
