Official: VH1 Reality Star Sought in Former Model’s Death May Be in Canada

The VH1 reality star named a "person of interest" in the killing of his model ex-wife may have escaped to his native Canada, a sheriff's office in Washington State confirms to the Associated Press.

Ryan Alexander Jenkins, 32, who appeared on VH1 reality shows Megan Wants a Millionaire and I Love Money, is wanted for questioning after the nude body of his ex wife, Jasmine Fiore, 28, was found stuffed into a suitcase in a Buena Park, Calif. trash bin over the weekend.

The Whatcom County Sheriff's Office in northwest Washington said Wednesday that a man matching Jenkins' description was spotted on a boat at Point Roberts — U.S. territory that is reachable by land only from Canada. Authorities think Jenkins walked across the border. Fiore's mother Lisa Lepore says her daughter, a former model, met Jenkins in Vegas in March and wed him shortly after. In May, Lepore says the couple "had a big blowout" and Jasmine "had the marriage annulled."

In June, Jenkins was charged with a misdemeanor count of "battery constituting domestic violence" for hitting Fiore in the arm. He's due in court in December. Jenkins — who earned the nickname "Smooth Operator" on Megan Wants a Millionaire — has a criminal history in his Calgary hometown, according to the AP. He was sentenced to 15 months of probation in January 2007 for assault, according to the Alberta, Canada Ministry of Justice.
