One of the two men arrested for stealing wreckage from Paul Walker's fatal car crash last year has been sentenced, Us Weekly can confirm. Anthony Edward Janow, now 26, was sentenced to six months in county jail on Tuesday, Dec. 9, one year after the actor's tragic accident.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced that Janow will be sentenced to three years formal probation after his time behind bars. On Aug. 5, he pleaded no contest to one felony count of grand theft. A second suspect, 19-year-old Jameson Brooks Witty, was sentenced to six months in county jail and three years formal probation back in August.
As previously reported, the two men stole a roof panel from the demolished vehicle when the tow truck carrying it stopped at a red light.
Last month marked the one-year anniversary of Walker's death. He died at the age of 40 alongside his friend and business advisor, Roger Rodas, in Santa Clarita, Calif. Vin Diesel paid tribute to his late Fast & Furious costar once again on Nov. 30.
"He was a part of so much in my life…long personal talks with my mother or babysitting the Alpha Angel…he took a certain pride in being Uncle Pablo," he captioned a Facebook photo of his daughter Hania Riley Vincent and Walker. "He was an important part of my transition into fatherhood…that healthy family member, with the most positive outlook on life."
Walker's own daughter, 16-year-old Meadow, also remembered her famous dad with a throwback picture of the two. "I love you," she wrote.
