Straight up: Anyone interested in getting hired as Paula Abdul's assistant should get ready to tend to a kooky list of daily demands.

Among the 49-year-old X Factor judge's requests, according to an insider?

PHOTOS: What celeb was Paula's former roomie?

Each assistant must carry and use a tape recorder at all times "because she doesn't trust her own conversations," the source says.

"She also makes them check the TiVo for any mention of her and put it on a DVD."

Abdul team members should also prepare to go through her email -- and respond to family and friends as the star herself.

The "Forever Your Girl" singer also needed constant reminders that she is a "warrior, survivor and gift," adds the insider.

I believe it. On her show Heres Paula, she asked why no one was feeding her grapes and that she deserved to be treated as the "gift" she was. I saw this episode myself. She was impossible to her staff.

I don't believe this ONE MINUTE! With anything Paula does there always seems to be an "insider" who says she's doing something diva-ish. Paula is sweet and people just wanna make her look like bad. Leave the genuine nice celebs alone!

You know what? This "insider" sounds like an immature, disgruntled little brat, who should know that Karma is a Biatch! I worked for Paula, and I'll tell you, she is nothing but a sweet, kind, generous person, who doesn't deserve to be gossiped about. To this insider, I'll say, "You should be thankful you even had the chance to be hired by her, you fool".... Marisa Sclafani Empire Talent & Models Scottsdale, AZ

That's just professional power talk. REMEMBER that Paula is a ex Laker cheerleader, singer, dance choreographer, super star! And utilizes power talk to help inspire, to reach your dreams! HI5.

If people believe those are the real celebrities always tweetin on twitter etc, they need some therapy. This is very common.

Well, I like Paula but I've seen her silly reality show and she DOES treat her assistants like dirt and I do recall her saying - and I quote - that she's "tired of people not treating me like the GIFT that I am." She needs to grow up.

Not sure if many people caught her reality show which was basically camera's just following her around. She was a complete overbearing bag to her staff, a total weirdo a lot of the time and overly emotional, cried at the drop of a hat constantly. She feels sorry for herself all day long and I was totally shocked at what she is really like and have not cared for her ever since.

That's very strange. I would love to see some of those e-mails that were written in her voice to family and friends.
