Venice's most famous extended-stay tourists are back in Italy.

On Wednesday, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt returned to Venice from their humanitarian trip in war-torn Bosnia.

The couple wanted to spotlight the plight of 117,000 people who have been displaced from their homes since the Bosnian war, which ended 15 years ago.

Jolie, 34, and Pitt, 46, arrived in Sarajevo late Easter Sunday, following an Easter egg hunt and picnic with their six kids on the Italian island of San Servolo.

The stars visited with refugees whose homes remain destroyed, or who cannot return to their villages because the infrastructure has not yet been repaired.

"[I am] so inspired by these families," Jolie said in a statement. "Despite the grim realities of their unsettled existence, they have an incredible determination to make a better future for their children."

"I hope we can find solutions for the remaining tens of thousands of displaced people…only then can we really close one of the most tragic chapters in modern history. [I hope] to return to this beautiful country soon and meet with political representatives to further discuss the solutions that are so badly required."

The actors have made frequent humanitarian trips: in February, Jolie visited earthquake-ravaged Haiti; in fall 2009, she and Pitt met with refugees in Syria and in Dadaab, Kenya.
