Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli vowed to remain amicable for the sake of their children, and the two stars are making good on that promise.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 39, and the Twilight actor, 38, reunited over the weekend at a toy store in Sherman Oaks, Calif. with daughters Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5. It was the first time the two have been photographed together after officially announcing their split on March 13.
The estranged couple looked tense during the outing, as both stars crossed their arms and looked in opposite directions while their daughters browsed the store. See more photos at X17.
The actors, also parents to Luca, 14, have been living apart for some time, sources tell the new issue of Us Weekly (out now). "It's been over for months, maybe even a year," says one insider of the couple, who met on the set of An Unfinished Affair in 1996 and wed in Santa Barbara, Calif. in 2001. "They kept up some sort of charade for their kids."
Adds another friend: "They've been working on the marriage for a while. It was not something they took lightly."
Indeed. When Garth and Facnielli announced their split, they told Us in a statement: "We both share the same deep love and devotion to our children. We remain dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together."
The stars have yet to file for divorce or determine a custody arrangement, a mutual pal adds.
