PICS: Angelina Jolie Visits Refugees in Ecuador

Colombian refugees in northern Ecuador made a famous new friend on Thursday: Angelina Jolie.

Wearing a tank top, jeans and very little makeup, United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Jolie, 35, looked radiant at a daycare center. She met with victims of domestic and sexual violence, and families still displaced from conflict that have plagued their native Colombia for decades. (Her love Brad Pitt wasn't on hand for the trip.)
"It's been eight years since I was last here and UNHCR's presence has grown considerably," Jolie noted in a statement.

"I wanted to come back and meet with vulnerable people and focus on violence against women and unaccompanied minors," Jolie explained. "I am so happy to be able to reconnect with some familiar faces, refugees I had met with during my 2002 trip."
Jolie's appearance in the South American country is a lead up to World Refugee Day, June 20.

The mother of six has been a UNHCR Goodwill ambassador since 2001 and has visited with refugees around the world.

After all the Stars lined up for the "humanitarian" awareness photo ops, it is refreshing to see Angelina continue her support of such causes proving that her heart is not in personal PR but, in bringing attention to crucial areas that need assistance. Mrs. Angelina Jolie-Pitt has certainly evolved into a wonderful human being, fantastic mother and wife, and awesome actress! Counting down to see SALT! You go! Girl!!!

They do use her for her popularity, since she is recognized pretty much all over because the most popular movies in the world are action movies. Other actors and artists (all types) support the UN but have particular programs where you donate and see the results (i.e. Shakira, Hayeck, Kidman). IN the aspect of others, they go to other countries but they keep it private since they do want to avoid any political ties. Many though keep their contributions within their country, supporting cancer, bone marrow, and aids organizations from the US... and if you love Aniston... she helps with one of them, one in particular for children with cancer. Bone Marrow a formula one, so one and so forth.
Oh give her a friggin blue ribbon! She drives by the homeless everyday in the Unites States and does nothing??? She looks at American orphan children and does nothing. What she DOES do? She goes to other countries and brings their unwanted throw aways here to America. So all of you go ahead and keep praising people like this. SICK!

I love Angelina with all my heart. It is so rare for someone to be so beautiful both inside and outside. Many blessings to her and her family. So refreshing to see a hollywood star not hung up on herself.
