Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Russell Armstrong has died of an apparent suicide, Us Weekly has confirmed.

On Monday night, the estranged husband of star Taylor Armstrong was "was found dead from an apparent hanging in a residence on Mulholland Drive," a spokesperson for the LAPD tells Us. The Los Angeles Fire Department also told Us: "The Los Angeles Fire Department did respond to a home on ...Mulholland Drive last night at 8:08 pm."

Businessman Armstrong was 47, and shared a young daughter, Kennedy, with Taylor, 40. After their marital struggles were aired on season one of the hit Bravo show, she filed for divorce last month.
A spokesperson for the L.A. Coroner's office adds: "No official cause of death yet established by the Coroner. Body not yet examined. The death is being investigated by the Coroner as a suicide at this time. Time of death: 2016 hours on 08/15/2011 at his residence in the 14000 block of Mulholland Drive," said Harvey.

55i just hope taylor and her child are ok and she is not blaming her self all though we only see what producers want us to see on this show any one could see this lady was being abused by her husband i dont think the show drove him to kill him self maybe it was his act of abuse that was put out there and not wanting to face his actions in the press no dought he had mental issuse but no women should have to put up with a man who puts his hand on her or mentaly abuses her my heart goes out to taylor and her daughter she sould feel no guilt for his actions
There are obviously a lot of people that have educated themselves on suicide and then there are plenty that have not. When you are feeling suicidal you are not thinking about the people around you. You are in pain and just want it to stop. The mental processes behind it are complicated and irrational. I have been there. It's about pain not about dying. No one WANTS to die they simply want the pain to end. So can people please educate themselves on suicide and stop blaming the suicide victims and accusing them of being selfish? Because yes, the one that left is just as much of a victim as the people left behind. It is a horrible set of circumstances.
It is not shameless or cowardice to take ones own life. It is simply a matter of debilitating pain that one can not seem to see any other means to stop it. Suicide is not about taking ones life, it is about ending ones pain. Most people that attempt/commit suicide are not wanting to die. They simply want the unendurable pain to cease. I have been there. It is a matter of finding the strength within to ask for the help needed in order to not end your life. People that think suicide victims are selfish need to do a little more research. That is very archaic thinking.
how can you people be so cruel and even to joke about this is just so de classe and if it happened to you would you want people joking about it ? Get some compassion and Quit being so snotty and thinking you all know it all !!
Was never a huge fan of Taylor's but was saddened by this terrible news. My prayer's go out the their family!

I don't understand why people need to be so cruel! my father chose to leave this earth this way, and not knowing why it was very difficult at first but I learned to except it I love life to much to ever give up ,it's a shame he didn't feel the same way.

I know LOTS of people who watch all the REAL Housewives series' and love them. I for one, do not. I think it would be a fun show to watch but I just don't have the time. That being said, I have seen through the years that the divorce rate after the series "du jur" has aired, there is a lot of divorce, bankruptcy, custody loss of the kid(s), long term friendships ending, cheating and now this...sadly, a suicide. I mean, what else? Sure, some of it is just the natural order of things but, I honestly believe that this show, in general, is CURSED! Of course I am speaking tongue and cheek but in all seriousness I do think that bad things seem to happen much more often to these folks after their season has aired. It's weird the way these people are in the entertainment headlines every so often and 9 times out of 10 it is something negative that has happened or happening to them. I mean, friendships and marriages that have survived for YEARS...all the sudden just end after the season has aired. This show is a toxic train wreck that has ruined a lot of lives and families. I'm all for being entertained but not at the sacrifice of all these peoples lives. Of course they make the show of their own free will but just like the disaster that happened to Jon and Kate plus 8, nothing good can seem to come of it. I hope they rethink putting themselves out their any longer and the show just dies a natural death. For the sake of the innocent children if nothing more.

I did not watch the show but remember reading about their divorce and them being sued. This is so sad anyway you look at it.
People just don't understand depression. It is so debilitating and all consuming and dark. You just can't see anyone or anything but your pain. This was no-one's "fault". It is part of a sick and twisted disease, and it's very sad.

Suicide is a loss, it is a tragedy. I do not know the family and would not begin to guess what was truly happening or what is really in peoples' hearts. I will ask, though, that before your post something that you think of innocent friends and family who may be hurt by a stranger's words, especially young ones who don't understand.
Most seem to be blaming Taylor. He chose to be on the show (in whatever capacity). He chose to marry Taylor. He chose to end his life. Maybe he kept his money situation hidden from her. It's not unheard of for one spouse to be completely unaware of any financial troubles. The bottom line is, these children have to grow up without a father and despite their pending divorce, Taylor lost the father of her daughter. P.S. Not all life insurance policies are void due to suicide.
