She’ll never let him down! Rita Ora expressed an unpopular opinion about pal and collaborator Chris Brown in a new interview with The Sun, standing by the rapper despite his controversial past.

“Chris Brown is strong, powerful, and someone that is important to me personally and professionally,” Ora, 24, told the newspaper. “The discrimination and all what people think? If you have a great song then no one cares.”

Ora is in the midst of working on the as-yet-untitled song with Brown, 26, whose reputation infamously stems from his ugly domestic violence incident with ex-girlfriend Rihanna, feuds with other stars, and multiple arrests.

“I love him on different levels,” the Fifty Shades of Grey actress continued. “I see how he treats his people and he’s a good person with a good heart and a lovely family.”

“It’s really nice that we finally got together because, regardless of what’s happened, the song is just amazing,” the Brit added of Brown.

Despite Ora’s words of praise, the “Loyal” performer cannot seem to escape headline-making drama in his personal life. Brown has been in a public spat with on-again, off-again girlfriend Karrueche Tran for months, and confirmed this past April that he is the father to a little girl named Royalty, whom he conceived with Nia Guzman

The first-time father did a bit of self-reflection last month, taking to Instagram to share a solo shot of himself on the ocean, accompanied by an extended, emotional photo caption.

“Most of my issues always deal with love and me being in my feelings. Not to mention me being a dog sometimes,” he wrote. “I can’t speak for everyone but I can say that my actions contributed a lot to my karma. Being jealous and angry and controlling. There has been times where I looked in the mirror and hated the person I see. I talk to God a lot now. He’s given me so much and I feel like I waste his gifts becuz of my impulsive personality.”

“The world is full of negativity and I feel I play a part in it becuz of the choices I’ve made or mistakes,” Brown continued. “I always see the good in people even when they don’t see it. I love others more than myself at times. Everything u see on the surface does not reflect what’s inside. This is my white flag. I surrender to life and all its blessings.”
