Roseanne Barr is going blind. The 62-year-old comedian revealed to the Daily Beast at the Tribeca Film Festival on Monday, April 20, that her “vision is closing in.”

"I have macular degeneration and glaucoma,” the Roseanne show alum told the news site of the medical condition that ultimately leaves you blind. “I just try and enjoy vision as much as possible, you know? Living it up. My dad had it, too,” Barr explained, adding that she’ll miss reading but has thought about hiring someone to “read for me and read to me.”

The Roseanne’s Nuts star, who has been vocal about wanting to legalize marijuana and smokes on camera in her documentary Roseanne For President!, said she’s turned to the drug to self-medicate. 

“[Marijuana is] good for me for that because I have pressure in my eyes,” she explained. “[Marijuana is a] good medicine for a lot of things.”

“It’s expansive,” she touted of the drug. “It opens your mind. You’re like…Wow, you’re in awe. You look up into the stars. It makes you wonder. It doesn’t close that down.”
