"Sad and Somber" Eva Longoria Parties With Pals
Newly single Eva Longoria didn't stay home on Saturday night. Weeks after filing for divorce from husband Tony Parker, the actress, 35, put on a brave face at Hollywood hot spot Chateau Marmont with dozens of pals.
Dressed head-to-toe in black, the Desperate Housewives star, who had discovered hundreds of personal texts between Parker and their friend Erin Barry, "looked beautiful" as she sipped champagne and chatted with friends, an observer tells UsMagazine.com.
"She had a grin on her face, but every so often she would stare off into space and looked very sad and somber," the witness adds. Longoria also exchanged hugs and chit-chat with fellow celeb Marmont revelers Jason Biggs and Kate Bosworth.
At midnight, Longoria and 20 of her pals moved from the lobby to the hotel's outdoor patio, as a singer from the band The Gipsy Kings regaled the group with songs.
The observer notes that the star "wasn't her feisty little self. If I could describe her energy in one word, I would say 'defeated.'...Eva was smiling and even laughing at times, but it was so apparent that underneath it all she was sad and hurt. It was very obvious."
Longoria, at least, is on amicable terms with Parker. They shared a friendly meal at an L.A.-area hotel on Wednesday to "work out the details of the divorce," an insider explained.
