Samantha Harris is on the mend. The Entertainment Tonight correspondent revealed in a tweet on Tuesday, May 20, that she underwent double mastectomy surgery.

"Made it thru grueling double mastectomy #surgery. Thanks to all of my amazing surgical team," the 40-year-old wrote. "Like my 'art' b4 heading in?!"

The "art" Harris mentions is a selfie of herself lying down in what appears to be her hospital bed. The TV personality looks exhausted, but still manages to give a small grin.

Harris announced last month that she has breast cancer. "The realization sort of overtook me, my eyes started to well up from tears when I was trying to keep myself calm because I thought the most important thing—was that I needed to focus and listen to what they were saying," she said of her diagnosis in an interview with ET's Brooke Anderson.

"I went back for the results of the pathology and I was by myself because there was nothing to worry about or so I thought," she continued. "It's not like in the movies where they sit you down across a table in their office and say, 'Well, you have cancer.' It was these wonderful surgeons [who] started drawing diagrams and talking as I was on the exam table listening to what they were saying, it dawned on me without them coming right out to say it."

The former Dancing With the Stars co-host and her husband, Michael Hess, are parents to daughters Josselyn, 6, and Hillary, 3.
