Scott Kalvert has died at the age of 49. The director was found dead on Wednesday, March 5, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

Kalvert was found in his Woodland Hills, Calif., home and was pronounced dead at 1:55 p.m. The L.A. Coroner's Office is investigating the incident as a possible suicide.

Kalvert is best-known for his work in The Basketball Diaries in 1995, starring a then-unknown Leonardo DiCaprio. He also directed 2002's Deuces Wild starring Stephen Dorff, video documentaries for Cyndi Lauper, Guns N' Roses, and a workout video for Mark Wahlberg in 1993. (Wahlberg also starred in The Basketball Diaries.)

The producer and writer also had his hand in directing classic '90s music videos. His work includes Salt-N-Pepa's "Shoop," Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch's "Good Vibrations," and Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff's "Parents Just Don't Understand."
