It's just emotion that's taken her over! Selena Gomez was full of feelings at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, Aug. 10.
The singer and actress, 22, was presented with the Ultimate Choice Award at the TCAs, held inside the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Receiving her surfboard from Sarah Hyland and Tyler Posey, Gomez got emotional when it was time to give her acceptance speech.
"You guys!" she began. "Thank you so much!"
"I have to be honest, especially this month, I cannot thank you guys [enough]," Gomez said, referencing drama in her personal life that includes a rumored breakup with on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber. "You remind me amidst all the stuff that we deal with personally, you remind me of what's important. That's giving and loving and caring about each other."
"I'm not trying to preach or any of that, it's just that you guys make me better," the Wizards of Waverly Place alum continued. "I really appreciate everything that you've done."
"There's one thing I want to say—I want to thank my mom so much because she's the greatest human being in the world," Gomez added of her mother, Mandy Teefey. "She's strong and she's given up her life for me and she's so beautiful. I want all of you to love your mom and give her everything, because she's incredible."
Tearing up, Gomez completed her speech by saying, "This [award] is for you, this never belongs to me, this always goes to you. Thank you for letting me do what I love!"
The grateful star looked chic at the awards show, wearing a black Saint Laurent jumpsuit. With her hair pulled back and parted down the middle, Gomez chose Miu Miu shoes and Jennifer Meyer jewelry.
