Deja vu for David Duchovny and wife Tea Leoni.
Late Tuesday, a rep confirmed to Us Weekly that the couple have separated after 14 years of marriage. But Duchovny, 50, and Leoni, 45, have been here before: Back in summer 2008, the spouses (parents to daughter Madelaine, 12, and son Kyd, 9) similarly spent several months apart.
A chief reason for the split back then was the Californication actor's admitted sex addiction; Duchovny spent about a month at an undisclosed facility in fall 2008.
By early October, Duchovny and Leoni were spotted back together, arm-in-arm, at a film fest event in NYC. (Leoni has never spoken publicly about her marital strife.)
At the time, sources told Us that they weren't shocked by Duchovny's admission.
"He's a guy who loves women," a Californication insider told Us. "He's always noticed an attractive lady."
Duchovny denied any problems in a 1997 Playgirl interview. "I'm not a sex addict...I have never been to those meetings. It's hurtful to my family and if I was involved with a woman in a monogamous relationship, it would be hurtful to her."
