Sounds like the Spelling family had a very merry Christmas indeed.

After years of estrangement and very public, often nasty sparring, Candy Spelling and daughter Tori spent Christmas 2009 together, ET reports -- in Beverly Hills, naturally.

Controversial star moms: see all of them here

Candy, 64, and Tori, 36, made the yuletide gay for a Dec. 25 meal at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Joining them? Tori's husband Dean McDermott, their children Liam and Stella, McDermott's son Jack, plus Tori's brother Randy Spelling and his girlfriend.

Recap the year's craziest star stories

An eyewitness told ET that "several strangers stopped by their table to give the reunited family unit their well-wishes."

The once-feuding mother and daughter have been hinting of a reconciliation for the past month.

Check out Tori's eye-opening transformation

"We're together as a family, and that's the most important thing," Tori told E! News Dec. 17. "It's just a blessing that [the reconciliation] happened around the holidays," she said. "And it just makes me think, 'Wow, it's an amazing thing and it happened this year and it's just the best gift we could get.'"

Earlier in the month, Candy told UsMagazine.com of their patched-up relationship, "I'm so happy. That's all I want to say about this topic -- I'm happy."

None of them should care about the money. Happiness & good health should be foremost. I hope all went well and they enjoyed spending christmas together. I am sure it was stressful but hopefully they made the best of it. Good luck to them.

No matter what, Tori's kids deserve to have one living grandparent. I love Tori and Dean and their show. There are two sides to every story and hopefully they've put the fighting behind them to let Stella and Liam AND Jack get spoiled rotten! Love ya T!

If you watched their show, you'd see how much Tori had longed for this, and how sad it made her not to be talking. Also, you'd see how much in love Dean is with her. I like them both (Tori and Dean)and am really happy for them.

Even if it's just for a day, how can this reunion be a bad thing? I hope it is a lasting reconciliation for all involved.

I thought the Spelling family was Jewish? Merry Christmas? This must be like a dream-come-true for Tori's husband. Planning for the future does pay off!

The person that's the happiest is Dean. He dropped his fiancee for Tori's fortune, but Candy had already deaded Tori - lmao. Tori still isn't going to get her hands on that loot - Candy's a smart woman.

So these two, who haven't spoken in years, have what is likely to be a awkward reconciliation dinner in a public place rather than one of their private homes. And in between trying to rebuild their tattered relationship in what should be a quiet family environment, they are constantly being interrupted by well wishers. Give me a break. Publicity is their only priority.

The one thing that money can't buy is the love of a family. In fact, conflict over it can be the worst, case in point.

I really don't know how the feud started and for what reason. All I know Candy didn't want to do anything with Tori anymore. Candy got almost everything from his late husband. I am a mother and nomatter what I will never cut any of my children from my life. If I were as rich as Candy, I'll share my money/property with my children especially when I inherited it from their father. Candy is sick and selfish woman!!!! I hope she realized and be nice to her daughter since then.

I dont know if Tori will ever drop this entirely, its one of the stories that keeps her in the news!

If I were Tori I would never speak to my mother again if she acted like that! Anyone that raises their daughter to live like the richest person in the world and then gets them used to a certain lifestyle only to yank it away the way that she did is just wrong! It's not like Aaron Spelling didn't have more money than all of them could ever spend! The whole scenario reminds me of mommy dearest....NO MORE WIRE HANGERS!!! Ugh...just go away Candy Spelling!

Weird, Christmas got the Spellings together, they are jewish.

  • December 29, 2009 - 8:43pm Sheryl

This will only last as long as Candy gets her way. As soon as Tori doesn't give in to her mothers every demand, the feud will be on again. Sad for Tori. She seems like a sweet lady and a good mom to her kids. Don't know where she got that from. Certainly not from that b**ch of a mother she has.
