Whoopi Goldberg Adopts Cat Thrown Out of Car Window

Whoopi Goldberg has a heart of gold.

The 55-year-old View co-host and Oscar winner recently adopted a cat who was thrown out of a moving car on the Verrazano Bridge in NYC last month.

"I adopted him and I was finally able to take him home," Goldberg wrote on Facebook Monday. "His nickname is 'Vinny.' [My other cat] Oliver's not too happy but Vinny is having the time of his life. I think he'll get Oliver to come around sooner than later."

The cat was found wedged into a barrier on the bridge after a city AC&C officer saw a motorist toss the animal out of the window. The driver was never identified.
