Exclusive: Why Taylor Swift's Secret Romance With Eddie Redmayne Fizzled

British actor Eddie Redmayne is the latest person to make Taylor Swift cry teardrops on her guitar.

The My Week With Marilyn star, 30, met the country music superstar, 22, in October 2011 when she was auditioning to play Eponine in a film adaptation of Les Miserables.

"They hung out in New York City with the movie's execs," a source tells the new issue of Us Weekly (out Friday). "And Taylor developed feelings for him fast."

The crush was mutual for Redmayne -- who attended Eton College with Prince William -- and the two stars kept in touch after he returned to the U.K. "Taylor loved this image of a British boyfriend," the source explains.

The two met up for drinks in London on January 24 and rendezvoused at Swift's hotel the next night -- but days later, the singer's romantic fantasy was over.

After returning to the U.S., Swift learned British actress Samantha Barks had beat her out for the coveted role of Eponine, "and Eddie's not interested in a long-distance relationship."

"The elements were against them," the source tells Us. "It's a shame."

Looks to me as this could all be an effort to put a story behind some of the 20 or so songs she has apparently written for her next album. I mean she wrote them during her tour when she was too busy to date anyone so she has to do it in reverse write song first then set up a short date to justify it, otherwise what has she to write about something boring like the weather or something. Anyway, can't believe photo's were'nt taken with her with this guy in London, they took photo's of everything else. By the way some of these articles are written (nights together, etc) they make it sound as though she's turning into a right bike!

This is ridiculous news...Taylor isn't a person as it was always reported..she isn't continuously falling in love with the person she met..She already grown up and i believe she much much deserve for better than Eddie

Im sorry did you think writing about Taylor Swift would sell you more magazines??? no good journalists says "a source tell us" your source could be a person you saw walking by a restaurant. They weren't in a relationship and you have no right to declare that they were. anyone who is a real fan of taylor knows what kind of person, you are hurting her carreer by making her seem like a person who serial dates or something. She hasn't been in a relationship since Jake. She learned from that and she knows not to fall too fast.
