Yolanda Foster has revealed that her children Bella and Anwar Hadid have also been diagnosed with Lyme disease.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star made the revelation while giving an extremely emotional speech at the Global Lyme Alliance Gala in New York City on Thursday, Oct. 8.
Addressing the audience at the gala, Foster, who has become an outspoken advocate for Lyme disease awareness, spoke about her suffering over the past four years. "I honestly don't have the proper words in my vocabulary to describe to you the darkness, the pain, and the unknown hell I’ve lived these past years.," she said. "I actually did not live. I just existed in a jail of my own paralyzed brain. This disease has brought me to my knees. Many nights I wish to die. I pray that I will just wash away into heaven, where there will be no pain."
The mom of three then went on to reveal that her two youngest children, Bella, 19, and Anwar, 16, have also been diagnosed with the tick-borne illness.
"God had different plans for me," she continued. "He changed my destiny when my two youngest children, Bella and Anwar, were diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease in early 2012. Watching my babies struggle in silence in order to support me and my journey struck the deepest chord of hopelessness inside of me, and it’s because of them that I’m motivated to stand here in front of you today," she continued.
"I don’t deserve this award," she said of the Power of One trophy she was presented with at the inaugural gala. "This award is for Anwar and Bella. This is my token and my promise to you that I will not allow you to live a life of pain and suffering," she said. "I will walk to the end of the earth to find a cure so that you can live a healthy life that you deserve. No child should suffer in the way that you do."
Former model Foster, 51, was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012 and has spent much of her time since then traveling all over the world and meeting with various doctors in a bid to find a cure.
In August of this year she had her 20-year-old silicone breast implants removed in a bid to relieve some of the symptoms she's been suffering from.
Foster was joined at Thursday night's event by Bella and Anwar, and also by her eldest child Gigi Hadid, 20. Gigi was accompanied on the red carpet by her beau, Joe Jonas.
