Zendaya and Julie Klausner Battle on Twitter After Kids’ Choice Awards Win

Think of the children! Zendaya and Difficult People star Julie Klausner got into a bit of a tiff on Twitter on Sunday, March 13, just one day after the teen star took home the Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Female TV Star — Kids’ Show.

The trouble started after the 19-year-old Disney star thanked her fans for voting for her, and said in her acceptance speech that she doesn’t take the influence she’s been granted lightly.

“I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I do it for you guys,” she said. “I just want you to know that doing and making positive programming for young people is so important to me, and I will keep doing it. To all the parents out there, thank you for allowing me to be a role model for your children.”

Klausner, 37, took to Twitter with a comment about Zendaya’s win, which then set social media aflame.

“And thinspo model for your impressionable tweens,” the actress quipped as a jab at Zendaya’s “role model” comment. “Zendaya’s ultimate retort to Giuliana Rancic is starving herself down to the size of her elbow. You don’t have to have an eating disorder to attend the Kids’ Choice Awards … but it helps!”

When Zendaya caught wind of Klausner’s caustic remark, she retweeted the actress with an indignant message.

“Do you find this funny? I will write another paragraph to educate you aswell #youreallywannabenext?” the K.C. Undercover teen wrote. “Now … everyone go look in the mirror at their beautiful body, and love that sh-t #thickgirlswinning #skinnygirlswinning #weallwinning.”

The singer-actress, who defended herself on social media last year after her hair was mocked by Giuliana Rancic, then proceeded to tweet about her exciting night, choosing not to engage with Klausner.

Zendaya’s fans, however, began to attack Klausner, causing her to post a series of tweets that escalated to extreme heights.

“Zendaya’s threat to write another paragraph is more dread inducing than Kim Jong Un’s fronting about the bomb he has,” she wrote, later adding, “I would like to use this opportunity to educate Zendaya fans that the Reagans ignored AIDS.”

“Sticking up 4 AIDS is rad,” she continued. “It gets such a bad rap! Love that Zendaya goes so far as 2 have Nancy Reagan’s body type! … Let’s not fight. Here is my olive branch to Zendaya fans – can we just all agree that 1) all women are beautiful and 2) Zendaya hates Jews?”
