There are things to be said and done, but the fact of "We are the World" being untouchable as claimed by Jay Z,is just so wrong.Being a standing fact, that MJ is not just a legend, but an idol to the World of music, makes his work something to be touched,as long as the beauty of the song stays alive.I think Jay Z,as we all know,is just a bit pushed cuz he wasn't involved in it.We all know how he commented "American Gangstar",all bcuz he wasn't featured.Music is a work of art that can be touched,re-touched,and over-touched.That shows the beauty and passion in it.So bro.,come off it.And for others who buy the idea of Jay Z,i think the problem had always been people thinking they can offer something, when in reality they can't.And i saw a comment of a Melanie or whatever,if you give counts of what you guys have done for haiti, then i think God should regret giving you all you gat ever since you were born.Just a point of advice,Learn to help and shut up,then God will see you, hear you,and be of support to you too.

I am not a fan of the we are the world remake. I understand the purpose, but the remake of a classic does not move me.

  • February 16, 2010 - 3:29am Big Smith

The whole point was not about how close to the original the remake should have gotten but it was all about trying to be part of the solution to the Haiti problem, it was not meant for OSCAR OR the GRAMMY'S SO jay-z should have looked at the bigger picture.

the idea is to make a fund raising not for anything else, so even if its not close to the original its still there to benefit the affected victims.so lets not talk about the song, lets talk about how best we can help.

I am with JayZ, they should have left it alone, that is a song that no one can touch. It is classis. Yeah the young one's are good, they had some of my favorite artist, but still leave We are the World & just bring it out & sell it for the Public, that is what I think they should have done..

I am for helping people, but does anyone realize we have been helping Haiti since the early 1900,s. We practically support the people of Haiti. Read some history. I am sorry so many lives were lost and thier are so many in need, but we have people here in need, and do we make a song. NO! We could call it a remake of Michael Jacksons Nobody Cares About Us. Where is the world when we need them? Not here offering handouts, that,s for sure. We have given Haiti billions of dollars over the years, never got anything back , not even a thank you for training them to do jobs, and get them producing sugar again. What we did get however was asked to leave. So why don,t we not raise money, just go over there and help again and make sure the money is going to the right things. But please do not take an Icons song and redo it for a country that does not appreciate what is done for them.
