We love when celebrities get creative with their nails because it inspires us to try something other than our go-to shades. Plus, if they can't get a little crazy with their manis, who can?

QUIZ: What's your polish personality?

Such was the case at Beyonce's Good Morning America performance on July 1-- the songstress, 29, sported a bubblegum pink manicure but switched things up by painting a mint green polish on her ring finger nails.

Lauren Conrad also tried out the mix-and-match trend this weekend -- she wore nautical-inspired patterned nail appliques and left one nail on each hand bright red. See her Fourth of July beauty tribute on her blog.

We have to agree with both Beyonce and Conrad that the fingernail to make stand out is your ring finger. Here are our reasons why this is the coolest trend to hit nails since the shatter effects:

1) It's the solution to being stuck on deciding between two different colors.

2) Regardless if you're engaged or single, now your ring finger has another reason to show off.

To copy Beyonce's manicure, try Ulta Professional Nail Lacquer in South Beach and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color in Jade Jump.

Another combo we're loving: Add some dazzle to your nails by painting your ring fingernail with a glitter polish like try Orly Cosmic Fx.
