The newlywed, 29, showed up at a party for her February Lucky magazine cover this week with an amazing opalescent purple eye effect. "Violet, burgundy, and lavender shades enhance any eye color, especially brown," says New York City makeup artist, Marni Giannotti.

To recreate Richie's look, apply an iridescent pale purple shadow such as MAC Pigment in Violet ($19.50, maccosmetics.com) on your upper and lower lids as well as in the inner corners of your eyes. Then, blend a deeper amethyst hue in the outer corners. Line your inner rims with a jet black pencil to make the purple pop and finish with three coats of black mascara.

4she's nasty! why is she famous again?
I think nicole richie is really pretty. The problem here is the lavender makeup. It doesn't suit her complexion in the least. I have a similar complexion - just a little paler and i can't pull off lavender either.
No, you're not, Kim. :) I don't see it either...
Am I the only one who can't see the beauty in this girl?
