Dream Wedding: Allison and Francisco

How We Met: One night, I, Allison, randomly saw him walk into a room and told my friend I thought Fran was cute, but thought nothing of it. One month later, we ran into each other at a big party and spent the entire night talking and dancing. It was as if the world around us didn't exist and three years later we are happily engaged.
Our Dream Wedding: Our ultimate wedding would be a room filled with our family and closest friends and a wedding band that plays amazing salsa and all types of house music that would keep us dancing all night long. We want a Puerto Rican chef and great cocktails to sip on. The church would be filled with white and purples calla lilies. The reception room would be draped in white linens to cover the glass doors around the room and a white rug would cover the floor and entire salon.
Obstacles We Overcame: A few months after we got engaged, Fran was dianosed with an Acstrocytoma tumor on his spinal cord, which meant an immediate and complicated 10-hour surgery. The recovery was horrific. Fran had to learn how to walk and move again. He was hospitalized for a month and half and in intense therapy five times a day. After he was discharged, he continued to attend outpatient therapy daily. This has shown us that we will be here for each other through the good and the bad. Fran is currently unemployed and Allison only works part time.
Our Favorite Celeb Wedding: Giuliana and Bill Rancic's becuase of the beautiful and whimsical location; Beyonce and Jay-Z's because even though we didn't see much I bet it was full of crystal and bling; and Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's because it was funky, fun, colorful and classic.

When we heard the news about Fran's tumor and surgery we were all devastated... but seeing how Allison and Fran stayed strong and united to face this difficult situation vas very rewarding. Fran and Allison are one of the bravest, most caring and lovely couple I know. Their dedication to each other is admirable. When Fran was diagnosed with his tumor we were all in shock but at the same time were positive that he was going to be ok and he was going to recover. To see how Fran and Allison have united to embrace all the challenges they confront everyday has been a life changing experience for me and has taught us all who are lucky enough to have them as friends to be thankful, appreciate and celebrate live everyday. Fran has never lost his good spirit having always a smile on his face, even when suffering excruciating pain. And Allison has definitely been his rock through all of this. Her strong faith in God has made this experience an uplifting one. For all these reasons and because their unconditional love will forever live, they deserve to win the wedding of their dreams.

Fran y yo estudiamos en PR juntos desde que eramos muy peque~os. Su sentido del humor y su alegria hacian que todos quisieran pertenecer a su grupo de amistades.
