This Fashion Designer Is Launching a Jackie Kennedy–Inspired Collection

Gerard Darel
Gerard Darel just launched a capsule collection inspired by the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ ’60s street style.

O., Jackie! Gerard Darel may be French, but he’s clearly in love with an American fashion icon: Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The former first lady is the inspiration behind the designer’s new capsule collection.

The “In the Skin of an Icon” collection is inspired by the late Kennedy Onassis’ post–White House era street style, which included trench coats, striped tees and oversized sunglasses. There are high-waisted sailor pants, draped white blouses and even a tee that reads “Jackie” in retro bubble script.
