I love a maxi dress in the summer but I am so tired of those same old solid colors or some tie dye creation. I never thought of myself in stripes, but the more I see them on Rihanna, Katie Holmes and Khloe Kardashian, I think I want to try the trend.
I love their take on the trend, including Rihanna's classic A.L.C. version, designed by Andrea Liberman who styles Gwen Stefani. I also realize and love the fact that all three ladies are all over 5'8. So, it's platforms, wedges for all of us shorties! A flat sophisticated sandal could work, too, but the hem will require a little bit of creativity.
Layered with a cozy cardigan and paired with an all-important fedora during the day can work with Forever 21's Striped Sleek Maxi Dress, and at night, a high heel and maybe a chain necklace like Rihanna's can add extra glam. Or, you could just let the dress speak for itself.
