Muy caliente!
Gina Rodriguez is on the fast track to superstardom, and, so far, she’s showing no signs of slowing down. The Jane the Virgin actress, 30, who just won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in TV Comedy at the 2015 awards show, covers Latina magazine’s March 2015 issue.
For the sexy photo, the star ditched her bra — rocking only a tan and black striped blazer. In the other photos she dons a sultry cream top and a black skin-flashing cutout dress with sky-high heels.
The Real co-host and fellow Puerto Rican actress, Adrienne Bailon interviewed her on growing up in Chicago, the importance of education, and more.
“I grew up in Chicago, in the ‘hood, where it was predominantly Latino and Polish,” Rodriguez told Bailon. “The whole area starts with a big ol’ Puerto Rican flag and ends with a big ol’ Puerto Rican flag.”
Rodriguez also revealed that she comes from a family of successful women. “I have two older sisters: One’s an investment banker and the other is a doctor,” she explained. “We all did good until I came around, and they were like, ‘Actor? No you’re trying to be a lawyer.’ And I was like, ‘I’m not trying to be anything with law, but I’ll be one on TV.’”
Though she was extremely confident in her career path, Rodriguez still pursued education, attending Columbia University and graduating from New York University.
“Education was definitely number one, and that’s why acting scared my parents,” Rodriguez said. “They were like, ‘What are you going to do with that? How are you going to make money?’ We didn’t grow up with money, so they always instilled that education was going to get you to where you needed to be and it definitely did.”
Rodriguez was relatively unknown when she picked up the Golden Globe for her hit CW series — beating out the likes of veteran actresses Edie Falco and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. “This award is so much more than myself, it represents a culture that wants to see themselves as heroes,” she said in her emotional acceptance speech.
