Newlywed Kate Middleton's hair was princess-perfect at Friday's fairytale wedding. The 29-year-old bride's elegant Demi-Chignon hairstyle was created for her by hairdressers James Pryce and Richard Ward.

Pryce, who has known the Middleton family for eight years, tells Us Weekly: "Catherine was very involved in her chosen style and the bridal look was based on her own preference. It was really a matter of getting a fine balance of feeling natural but also reflecting the occasion."

Pryce and Ward created "three mood boards that [they] presented and discussed." Of those boards, "two or three styles were selected and [they] worked with those until the final look was achieved."

So did the newly anointed Duchess of Cambridge base her 'do on her dress? Not exactly. "The focus of the [hairstyle] was Catherine's unique and individual halo style tiara, set just back from the hairline, which determined the look."

"Her trademark glamorous chestnut hair was styled in romantic waves that were then positioned back form the shoulders to allow the detail of her wedding gown to be show," Pryce explains.

When asked what makes the newest royal such a great ambassador, other than her fabulous hair, Pryce gushed: "She's a lovely, genuine person."
