On Saturday, Nicole Richie debuted a darker do at the launch of the House of Harlow 1960 Holiday Collection at Bloomingdale's in Costa Mesa, Calif.

"I did it about a week-and-a-half ago," the mother-of-two, 28, told Usmagazine.com when asked about her new look. "I change my hair color all the time, and I hadn't done it in a few years. With the babies, I just really hadn't had time. I'm so used to having that change all the time, and I hadn't done it in about two years, so I was just ready and sick of being blonde! I was ready for a change!"

Richie said she is gearing up for the holidays with beau Joel Madden and their two kids, Harlow (who turns 2 next month) and 3-month-old Sparrow.

Any family traditions?
"I don’t have a lot of traditions," she said. "I have gotten a new Christmas ornament every year so I will probably do that. I'm a big eggnog drinker. Not the kind with alcohol in it, but the regular kind. I thought that everyone drinks eggnog, but as I'm getting older, I'm learning that people actually think it's really gross, but I love it, so I will definitely have some eggnog!"

Her kids "are great," she said, adding that Harlow "loves being a big sister."

All I have to say is WoW! I just can't believe the transformation! You look great with the darker hair and you should keep it. It just looks so natural on you. The haircut is also very flattering, and the whole package really makes you look beautiful! Live Happy!
i just went brunette a week ago and i love it! i was blond i didnt like it so i wanted a change! anyway she looks better that away and yea don't change it. :))

Eggnog gross?? Everyone I know loves it and drinks it all the time during the holidays. Gross why? I wish they'd sell it year round. I even think I need to look up a recipe and learn to make it since it is only seasonal in grocery stores, then I can have it year round.
