Looks like this pop star is back to her California-girl roots!

After spending a few weeks as a redhead due to a botched dye job where she tried to lighten her black strands, Katy Perry is finally blonde.

The "E.T." singer, who's actually a natural blonde, debuted her sunny new hue during an on-air MTV News interview on Thursday.

But the journey to golden locks wasn't an easy one for Perry, 26. Last month she alluded to dyeing her hair, only to have it end up in disaster.

"So I didn't get to the exact color I wanted from being black for so long! To get to goal I have to be a ginger for three weeks! If I don't wait three weeks, I'll end up with no hair or a pixie '90s cut with a barrette in the front. It's okay, I'll get to my secret color(s) soon!" Perry said over multiple tweets.

Besides having a new hair color to show off, the chart-topping artist has a lot to celebrate -- she just nabbed nine MTV Video Music Awards nominations including Video of the Year (for "Firework") and Best Pop Video.

"OMG! I just got word that I'm nominated for 9 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS!!! I'm kinda speechless/nervous/turned on! NOW it's up to YOU to VOTE!" she Tweeted Wednesday night.

I vote it'll be yellow within a week for the SMURFS premiere! She is the voice of Smufette afterall... she's got yellow hair, lol.

Well first of all, you don't "dye" your hair blonde from black. You "bleach" it... and I don't care for this color on her...she looks much more striking as a brunette!! Makes her gorgeous blue eyes stand out more.
