Talk about having perks!
It's tradition for a father to walk his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day, but if your dad is Ralph Lauren, an added bonus is scoring a custom-made bridal gown!
Such was the case for Dylan Lauren, who has made her own name as the owner and president of the well-known candy store Dylan's Candy Bar. When she tied the knot last month to hedge fund manager Paul Arrouet, the 37-year-old donned a stunning handmade duchesse satin and silk tulle gown designed by her father. The custom-made ensemble featured embroidered detail and a sprawling tiered train.
Despite being surrounded every day by what she calls a "Disneyland of candy," the confectionary entrepreneur has quite the svelte figure, which she shows off by modeling the one-of-a-kind gown in the VOGUE Age Issue, on stands now.
"I told my fiance, 'I may sleep in it. I might wear it the next day,'" she said in a May interview on Oprah. "It's really beautiful. I know that every bit of [my father's] energy and heart went into making sure that I liked it."
"I had to do something that was better than ever before," Ralph said in the same Oprah interview. "When you do something for your family or your daughter, I mean it's the only daughter I have – beautiful girl.
