Hot new 'do! Solange Knowles got a hair makeover for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala on Monday evening, May 5.

The singer, 27, hit the red carpet sporting a choppy pixie cut with layered bangs. She attended the event on the arm of designer Phillip Lim, whose creation she wore to the soirée.

The cropped hairdo showed off Knowles' features, which were accentuated with a dark smokey eye and a nude lip. Her peach 3.1 Phillip Lim dress featured a voluminous bottom that hit at the knee and a draped crossover neckline.

She accessorized with gold ankle-strap Stuart Weitzman heels, a gold Anya Hindmarch clutch, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Knowles' short hair is a dramatic change from the look she showed off just days ago. On Thursday, May 1, Beyonce's younger sister performed at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival with her shoulder-length hair falling in natural curls.

The singer is known for her bold style sensibility and her ability to mix prints like no one else. She regularly sits front row at fashion week and starred in ad campaigns for Madewell and Puma. Photos: Best Met Gala gowns of all time!
