Tim Gunn on Beyonce’s Met Gala Gown: ‘I’m Just Flabbergasted by This Misstep’

Hope he’s not allergic to bees! Tim Gunn wasn’t a fan of the latex Givenchy gown Beyoncé wore to the Met Gala in New York City on Monday, May 2. The Project Runway mentor, 62, calls Queen Bey’s nude frock a “misstep” on the Tuesday, May 3, episode of Fashion Police.

The fashion guru says on the E! show that he thinks the “Formation” singer could have done better.

“It has S&M written all over it,” Gunn says while recapping Monday night’s fashions. “Beyoncé is having her moment. She is the center of the pop culture universe right now. Shouldn’t we have the highest expectations of her? I’m just flabbergasted by this misstep.”

Cohost Brad Goreski disagreed, however, telling the panel that he’s not the right person to ask, given he watches “Lemonade twice a day.”

“I loved this look,” Goreski declares on the show.

For the record, Gunn also hated Beyoncé’s 2015 Met Gala look. After fashion’s biggest night last year, Gunn told Us Weekly that Bey’s nude illusion Givenchy gown was “disrespectful.”
