  Hailey is a child, and she acts like a child. She has temper tantrums and when she's not happy, she picks up her toys and goes home. Jon needs to realize that their age difference will always cause problems. I wish he would get some sound advice from someone who has his best interest at heart. Right now, he's getting bad advice from a bunch of wannabe celebrities and it's taking him down the wrong path. You can tell if you watch the show that he loves his children and they love him, but he needs to stop letting Kate's bad behavior get to him and just focus on being a father. Kate will implode sooner or later and those kids will need the one parent that they have left.

  After announcing their split Kate promised that the family would be together for the holidays and that she would get along with Jon for the kids sake. Just more of Kate's empty promises. She has just been awful during this whole ordeal. Sure, Kate wants to deny their kids dad but it's fine to spend Thanksgiving with her bodyguard. Kate has only her interest at heart. Sounds as if by celebrating Thanksgiving with Steve her plan would work to run off Jon and be in control of the kids. The kids aren't stupid. They will realize this and it will backfire on Kate.

  "Rigid patterns of behavior" meaning the behaviors are entrenched in the person's personality. This is why the patterns are pervasive across many situation. For example, the same types of behaviors may be observed when the individual is browbeating her husband, haughtily refusing free cribs for her six babies because they didn't match, threatening her child's life if s/he splashes water on her, or hopping on the phone to berate her sister-in-law for giving the children gum in spite of the fact that said sister-in-law was babysitting as a favor and didn't deserve to be treated like a servant. Additionally, a personality disorder isn't defined by one or two isolated negative personal characteristics; rather, it is a configuration of behaviors related all together. Not only is Kate hostile, demanding and irritable to all of these people, she is in effect exploiting all of them for her own satisfaction. She's not on some kind of crusade for the higher good; her only ideal is her own experiences. Don't get me started on the grandiosity -- "I would love to be in a movie."..."Everything I do is for my kids". I, mean, really. Kate seems to feel she is a more devoted mother than most, which is absolutely ridiculous. She merely happens to have more kids than most mothers.

  First of all, Michelle, clearly you don't understand personality disorders if you would base such an evaluation on a few months' worth of behavior, especially behavioral CHANGES, that coincide with a major life change. Personality disorders involve RIGID patterns of behavior that are pervasive across many situations and can be traced back for a long period, typically to the beginning of adulthood. It's not a "stage". So don't throw the word bipolar around like an insult, regardless of your bias toward Kate. It makes you look simple. Speaking of looking simple -- What do you mean by "made himself appear to be organic"? What is an organic person?

  Jon just gets more pleasant with each day! He is such a jerk! I feel sorry for Kate and the kids. Yes, Kate has come off demanding and controling of Jon on the show, but when you have a 32 year old that acts like a 16 year old hormonal "boy" what do you expect! She has been the only adult in the house. He also made himself appear to be organic and going to church. Yet now he's out smoking, drinking and going to a Rabi? Sounds like he's the bipolar one!orderlyl!

  You can describe Kate Gosselin with one word -- hostile, demanding, hedonistic, exploitative, short attention span, irritable, and grandiose -- or you can describe her with many -- bipolar. She excels at manipulating others' emotions for fun and profit yet she can't get a five-year-old to do what she wants without hitting her.
