Next Gen NYC star Gia Giudice has finally moved in with her longtime boyfriend, Christian Carmichael — but are wedding bells in the couple’s near future?
“I would assume I could probably see my ring coming closer than not,” Gia, 25, told Us exclusively of the potential for an engagement on Monday, November 2, the week of the couple’s big move. “This is the next step, to move in with each other … and I would assume my ring will follow.”
Gia and Christian sparked a romance after meeting at the Jersey Shore in 2019, and the entrepreneur has been by the reality star’s side through her college experience at Rutgers University and the ups and downs of post-grad life, as documented on the first two seasons of Next Gen NYC.
This month marks a big step in the couple’s relationship as Christian moves into Gia’s Jersey City apartment.
“We always knew after I had moved out [of my family’s Montville home] that after completing my one-year lease, the next step would be for us to move in with each other,” Gia explained to Us, adding that while they looked for apartments in Manhattan, they ultimately decided to stay in Jersey City.
“With [my restaurant] Il Vero opening [and] his transition into a new job, there was lots happening, so we decided to just stay put in my apartment for right now,” she told Us. “He’s making his way in this week, so I’ve been doing many closet cleanouts and just trying to make as much room for him as possible. But we’re so excited. We can’t wait.”

While the moving process is never easy, Gia said she is most excited “to just come home to him every night and him come home to me every night, and just kind of feel what life is going to be like for the rest of our lives.”
Throughout their relationship, Gia and Christian have always been separated by some distance, whether that was a 40-minute drive when she was at Rutgers, or even further this past year that she’s lived in Jersey City. Gia told Us “a lot” of their past issues have stemmed from that distance, so she’s hoping living together will resolve any lingering time-management issues.
“I think it’s going to strengthen our relationship as a whole, and I think communication is the biggest thing,” she told Us. “That’s something we’ve definitely worked on throughout the years, and I think it just comes with maturity and getting older, and that has definitely been beneficial.”
Season 2 of Next Gen NYC showed some hesitation on Christian’s part when it came to filming the reality show. While Gia told Us the idea that Christian doesn’t like to film was a “false narrative,” she acknowledged that her boyfriend needed time to adjust to the world of reality TV, unlike herself, who grew up on camera on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
“While filming reality TV, you don’t get all the answers until you’re actually doing it. Certain concepts were new to him, like having the same conversations over and over again,” Gia explained to Us. “Just little things that you obviously wouldn’t know or couldn’t tell if you are looking at it from the outside.”

But at the end of the day, Gia says Christian is her “biggest supporter.”
“He supports me with everything and anything,” she told Us. “You guys will definitely be seeing him a lot in season 3 of Next Gen. … He loves everyone that I film with. He has a lot of fun doing it, and I think it’s just certain scenarios that obviously get under anybody’s skin, [but] everything just comes with time and adjustment.”
What can fans expect from season 3 of the reality show as a whole? “Lots of drama,” Gia said. Shocker!
“We’re much more comfortable with each other at this point,” she teased to Us. “I think you’re going to see the root of more problems and what we are condoning or not condoning in the friend group. It’s going to be a great season.”
