Character enough to stay the course in a 34 yr marriage. ________________________ I couldn't agree more with the above comment posted; I was so sad to hear of his passing. Like so many good people, celebrity or not, they pass too young and too soon. I've loved Patrick Swayze's work, especially his character Ory Main from North & South, and felt he was like that in real life, honorable, kind, strong and sensitive. My thoughts and prayers are with his beloved wife and family.

  what is it with women and taking their husbands names? what is the point of it? to show that your someone's wife? is that how u identify yourselves? maybe some women don't need see the point of it and i've been married 28 years without having the need to do that. i've retained my maiden name and so what? why would it bother anyone else? anyone who has a problem with lisa keeping her name is just pathetic and needs to get a life!

  Why didn't she take his name? Because she's independent and her own person and no doubt that's what he loved about her. To those who think true love means taking on someone else's identity ... get a life. They were obviously more loyal to each other than many "traditional" couples out there.

  My father died young of cancer and my mother was a very attractive young widow. But, she always said, no man will ever love me like your father and I won't settle for less. My mother is an old lady now. I used to think she should have dated and maybe she would have been lucky again. But, lightning doesn't struck twice. If you have what Patrick and Lisa had, you were fortunate in life. I consider my mother lucky to have been so loved at one time.

  First off...to anonymous 4:33..who cares why she didnt take his last name...doesnt seem to be any of your business in the least. Just because he was a celeb doesnt mean you or anyone else deserve to know every aspect of their lives. Now...what a sweet wonderful thing to say about the woman he loved. We all could only wish to have that in our lives even for a little while. They had it for 34 wonderful years. Its to bad they couldnt have 34 more.
