19 Kids and Counting Pulled From Hulu Just “For the Time Being,” CEO Says

19 Kids and Counting has been pulled from Hulu just "for the time being," the streaming service's CEO said.

Hulu removed TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting from its site Thursday, May 28, after star Josh Duggar guiltily acknowledged child molestation accusations against him last week, but the move may not be permanent.

In an interview with CNNMoney, chief executive officer Mike Hopkins seemed to suggest there’s a possibility the show could return to the streaming service. The wildly popular reality series is unavailable on the site just “for the time being,” Hopkins said.

He went on to explain that Hulu and TLC are “partners,” and because “they took it off their platforms,” Hulu followed suit.

For now, when users search for the series on Hulu, a lengthy list of results is generated, but the videos all redirect to TLC.

The cable network has not yet announced whether it will cancel the show, but has pulled the program from the schedule.

Advertisers have taken action, however, with many announcing on social media that they would no longer advertise on 19 Kids and Counting. Those companies include Walgreens, Crayola, David’s Bridal, CVS, Ace Hardware, General Mills, and more.

Duggar, 27, is accused of molesting five underage girls 12 years ago, when he was 14 years old. After the news broke, the father of three — who has a fourth on the way with wife Anna — released a statement on the family’s Facebook page apologizing for his actions.

“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret,” he wrote. “I hurt others, including my family and close friends.”

Parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have stood by him in support, as have his wife and other family members.
