It’s not fair to deny readers of the pure gold that was Alanis Morissette and Demi Lovato’s 2015 AMA duet to “You Oughta Know”! After Lovato, 23, killed it earlier in the evening on Sunday, Nov. 22, with her bold performance of “Confident,” she returned to the stage for the classic rock tune, which stormed the charts 20 years ago.
Disney alum Lovato wore a leather crop top and skirt with a sparkly, embellished moto jacket and matching heels, using her powerhouse vocals to devour the ‘90s anthem. Morissette, 41, controlled the performance with a laidback ease in combat boots and leather leggings.
Both ladies effortlessly strutted across the stage, belting out the tune with an electric energy as the star-studded crowd sang and danced along.
The song, originally released in 1995, was the lead single off of her milestone Jagged Little Pill album, one of the top-selling albums of the ‘90s. The revenge song was nominated for the Song of the Year Grammy, but lost to Seal’s “Kiss From a Rose.”
